Chest Up Pad

What's up guys, I'm Bonnie Schroeder and I'm so excited to introduce you to the CHEST UP PAD!
If you're someone who experiences any type of discomfort or sensitivity during chest supported exercises, this product is about to be a game changer for you.

Let me quickly tell you a little bit about myself and why I was so excited to create the Chest Up Pad.

I'm a powerlifting athlete/coach with an extensive background in athletics that also includes track & field, bodybuilding and crossfit. Strength training has been such an integral part of my life for the past decade that I'm not the person I am today without it. The confidence and empowerment that comes with strength training are unparalleled and I love helping people discover their own capabilities.

And like all passions, training doesn't come without its occasional moment of frustration.

My personal issue was always experiencing some type of sensitivity with chest supported exercises and I would end up just avoiding them most of the time because there was really no other solution.

In May of 2021 I had a preventative mastectomy and reconstruction which led to even MORE discomfort during these movements and had to abandon those exercises all together.

After a few months of frustration I finally came up with a beautifully simple solution.

The Chest Up Pad!

This sleek and supportive wedge straps onto your bench and takes pressure off the chest when doing chest supported movements. The Chest Up Pad is made of several layers of firm foam which keeps the chest elevated rather than pressed into the bench. The backside is made of a grippy material to keep it firmly in position. The Chest Up Pad locks into place by stretchy straps that simply velcro around the back of the bench. Its small enough to fit into your gym bag and is sure to be the newest staple in every gym.

I wanted to work with the Abmat team because I already knew the quality of their products was unmatched and had been wildly impressed with the ingenuity of their training implements. I also wanted to create a product that was American made and supported a local business. Everyone knows Abmat is renown for their creative and functional products, so it seemed like a perfect fit.

Don't forget, the Chest Up Pad is NOT just for women! This product is designed to help people of all shapes and sizes, men and women included. Theres no reason to avoid these exercises anymore! Say goodbye to sensitivity and hello to your new favorite training tool!

Perfectly firm for support to add a little different angle using it on my lower back for Hammer Strength Incline Presses. Seems to target the pectoral a little differently than without the Chest Up pad.

I am a 74-year-old woman who has been weight training with my husband for the past two years. Your product called "chest up" is absolutely amazing. I have tried using folded blankets, folded towels, and pillows over the years, and have suffered when I tried to exercise on my abdomen. This product is a true blessing and help. I'm no longer crushed and in pain. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Warmest Regards. Joyce R.

The Chest Up Pad is amazing! I am 5’2” with a large chest, so chest supported exercises were awkward, uncomfortable, and sometimes painful. This pad has changed all of that! I am able to maintain good form while being supported and not squished! I highly recommend!

But this device has completely changed that for me. This device is a must-have in my gym bag. The price point is perfect and the shipping was fast. Thank You. 5 Stars ⭐️

Thank you so much for making this! I always felt so uncomfortable doing chest-supported exercises because the girls would get so squished. I'm also really short (5'0") and without the chest-up pad my face would always be too close to the bench (and who knows what germs) and now I don't have that problem!

I purchased the Chest Up Pad to use with my Rogue Fitness Seal Row Bench. I was experiencing some discomfort in my upper rib cage area while was executing the movements. The Chest Up Pad solved the problem for me by providing more support while pulling the bar up towards my chest. Nice well made product.

Thank you for Bonnie Schroeder’s amazing design, this Chest Up Pad fits perfectly on my Griffin FID Bench for the One Arm Dumbbell Incline Bench Row. The Chest Up Pad provides a lot of comfort when my chest is press hard against the incline bench. Before purchasing this chest up pad, doing the incline dumbbell bench row makes me awkward to breath and also high tension on the chest. With this chest up pad, now I can focus on my form and not have to worry about having chest pain or hard to breath! Thank you again Bonnie! Hugz Hugz!!

Customer photo review of CHEST UP PAD

I’m going to have a lot to say about this pad, but I’ll start by saying I love it and it’s exactly what I was looking for.

A little background: I’m a dude and I wanted this for myself. I tried to trick myself into justifying it in other ways, but I really don’t have an excuse. When this product was first teased, I thought it would be perfect for my wife. She just gave birth and is currently breastfeeding, so her chest is of course very sensitive. She thought it was pretty cool but not super necessary. For whatever reason, a few days later I really, really wanted it. I always hated smashing my face into my bench when doing chest supported exercises, so I started wedging my AbMat, which worked well but I wanted something better. I wanted the Chest Up Pad.

I debated for days if I should get it or not. I kept saying it would be for both my wife and me but I knew I would end up using more. I was very aware that I had GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) but I decided to bite the bullet and get it. Well, the Chest Up Pad turned out to be awesome. Not having my nose bent or having my breath condensed back into my face is great. I also love not having to lift my neck and head in an unnatural way. In fact, I’m getting more range of motion on exercises like rows. The vinyl of the pad might be one of the best feeling materials I’ve ever felt and the pad is comfortably soft but I definitely don’t sink into it for it to lose any effectiveness. The angle of it is also well thought out. Nothing digs into any part of my upper body and the pad contours perfectly.

At first and before I made the purchase, I was disappointed when the promotional videos and photos didn’t show any tags or AbMat branding like I saw with the Preacher Pad in reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised that it did come with a double sided tag that was subtle to the casual eye but enough for me to know I have a solid product from AbMat.

I know a lot of the costs of AbMat’s products like this are beyond the materials used. As for price, I know there are associated costs with US manufacturing, marketing and collaboration. That’s what we all pay for in the end. I only bring this up because while the top later of high-density foam is soft, comfortable and is high-quality, the two thicker layers of closed-cell foam, while very firm as marketed are just two pieces of foam you find as packing material with packages like other gym equipment or electronics. With the cost paid, I was hoping some nicer foam, like the Some carpet foam used in EliteFTS SS Yoke’s padding would have been great. However, because it’s not something I see or even feel directly on my body, I’m just nit picking. The materials used are plenty good. I personally was just hoping some of it could have been a tad better.

TLDR, this thing is good. If you’re a guy and you want to have your head naturally and comfortably spaced away from your bench pad, this is the way to go. If you’re a woman and want the same thing and to not get your sweater kittens smashed in, this is the way.

Chest Up Pad

Generally well-made (though mine came with a folded corner). Does help with comfort when doing chest-down incline bench work. Strap needs to be a couple of inches longer, as it just barely fits around the bench (only a narrow strip of the velcro overlaps in the bench I use it on. Very frustrating). Overpriced for what it is.

Chest Up Pad

Velcro isn’t long enough to strap to a standard REP nighthawk bench, although the standard version of all your other products is long enough.

Chest Up Pad

I use it primarily as a wedge against my lower back on the leg press. Fantastic for this, but I use it for several exercises in my home gym. Truly a multi tool. Get one!

Chest Up Pad

I am a 74 year old woman who has used pillpws, folded towels and other items during bench leg curles. It's always left me sore and crushed. My husband purchased your chest up wedge. It is perfect and I am delighted to have it. Thank you so much for rescuing my chest from pain and destress. Warmest regards. Joyce R.

Chest Up Pad

Great products! Good fit for the home gym or commercial.

Chest Up Pad

Haven’t used it yet. Strap was too tight to fit around my bench. So it’s attached and hopefully loosening up after fighting with it. But it will work great for me with my implants after mastectomy and reconstruction.

Chest Up Pad

The chest up pad serves as a multi faceted barrier between the body & various bench supported movements. Great for both chest pushing as well as back pulling support.

Chest Up Pad

Great company! Great product!

Chest Up Pad

Item feels premium.

Chest Up Pad

I bought this specifically for when I do anything pressing in a decline. I tend to raise my head off the bench and this allows me to not do that and be in the position that feels most comfortable. I also use it when doing spider curls or any kind of row when I’m facing the bench. It allows me to be in an optimal position that avoids all of the nuances of being in those positions.

Chest Up Pad

all my female clients appreciate this product!

Chest Up Pad

It’s a lot more comfortable doing back and rear shoulder exercises. The chest up pad is excellent quality and will last a long time if you know how to use it.

Chest Up Pad

Good product. Helps my wife a lot. She trains even harder now.

Chest Up Pad

I absolutely 💯 love it my girls don't hate me 🤣🤣🤣 stays in place, when on.

CHEST UP PAD

This is literally a game changer for women in particular….no more smashing of the boobs when doing any incline rows, or delt work!!!

Chest Up Pad

Bought this for the fiancé, she loves it! Takes the pressure off her chesticles and makes the exercises comfortable for her.

Chest Up Pad

Love it

Chest Up Pad

I love this mat! Very comfortable.

CHEST UP PAD

Works great for seal rows. Allows me to do seal rows much more comfortably with my power rack attached setup.

CHEST UP PAD

Works well but the strap is to short and hard to wrap around a wider bench.

CHEST UP PAD

My wife absolutely loves the pad. It's very well made and light weight!

CHEST UP PAD

Love how it help keep the chest in a upright position. Really contracting the back.

CHEST UP PAD

Doesn’t smash the boobs.. just what I was looking for!

CHEST UP PAD

Great addition to my home gym!
